Anyone who is telling you it can't be done is on crack. You can set up Wordpress blogs for free, find topics you and your friends can write about and be interesting and bang, you have an blog network up and running for free. If your blogs are good, people will read them. Cash not required.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what is the story here? With the exception of WIN, i think most blog networks out there were started with less than $1000. I know Jason DeFillippo and I created Metroblogging with much less than that.
