Phil has joined Big Blog Media as our resident Inside Trader - (Can you say that? - Ed) and financial expert, having consistently done 'rather well' - his words - over the last few years.


Phil has been a stock market investor for over 8 years, having started out by reading a number of books on the stock market and attending trading seminars.


Phil mainly trades from the comfort of home and invests in stocks right across the market, including AIM. He has a varied portfolio mainly containing stocks from the FTSE 100 and 250. The portfolio averages 6 to 7 different stocks at any one time, and never no more than 10 stocks and no less than 2.


The portfolio continues to grow each month with some of the biggest gainers coming from the recent oil boom and individual stocks such as CSR (CSR) (a wireless solutions provider and leader in Bluetooth technology).


The main portfolio is low risk concentrating on high growth stocks within the FTSE100 to FTSE350, though, one of the stocks is often median to high risk. That stock at the moment is Victoria Oil and Gas (VOG) from the Aim market.
