21st November 2008 : Enya – And Winter Came Review

Enya

New Review of Enya's "And Winter Came..." from the Ordinary Joe Music Blog!

In place of the “Little Drummer Boy” Enya sings of the “One Toy Soldier” whom asks “Who can mend my broken drum? / Will it be as good as new?” The album continues with “The Spirit of Christmas Past” which seeks to inspire those who are depressed by the season with words of encouragement “Believe in what I say/ Don't throw this time away/ Tomorrow will be Christmas Day”. “My! My! Time Flies!” I feel, is the most eccentric track on the album, and exhibits more extensive synthesizing of her voice.

Go check it out, to see lyrics, the official album cover and a video featuring Enya herself giving comments about the album's ceation.

18th November 2008 : John Legend – Evolver Review

John Legend

The Ordinary Joe Music Blog, member of BBM, has just posted its official review of "Evolver" , the third studio album of R&B/Soul singer John Legend.

Here's some of it:

With his third studio album, John Legend wanted to change his sound up, while not drifting too far from home. The album opens with an intro of one of its greatest songs “Good Morning”. The melodic piano keys mix with horns and Legend’s neo-soul voice produce a sound synonymous to previous albums, yet juxtaposed to some of the album’s more funky tracks.

Go read the rest, and see the album cover...

Baby would be dropping the third installment of his “Dedication” mixtape series, and releasing 20 extra songs for free on his website (let’s see if he keeps that promise).

The Ordinary Joe Blog has posted the tracklist of Lil Wayne's Upcoming Mixtape "Dedication 3" and a few comments from DJ Drama the mixtape monster behind it.

Hey, Big Blog Media readers, just notifying you that the Ordinary Joe Blog has just posted TWO Reviews of TWO songs by TWO of the greatest rock bands of our time; The Killers and the All American Rejects.

Here’s a snippet of both reviews:

The Killers

“Human” by the Killers

“Human” was produced by Stuart Price who has also worked with Madonna and Missy Elliot. The band visited him in London where the song was taken to another level close to quality it now has. “My sign is Vital/ My hands are cold/ And I’m on my knees looking for the answer/ Are we Human or are we Dancer?”

All American Rejects

“Gives You Hell” by the All American Rejects

“Gives You Hell” holds to the pop-rock sound we’re used to from AAR. The anthemic sound of the song comes out when, near the end, the sounds of a big crowd yelling the chorus is clear. “When you see my face hopes it gives you hell/ when you walk my way hope it gives you hell” sings Tyson Ritter, band front man over guitar rifts that go from cool and smooth at times to heavy rock.

Bahamian Rapper Golden Child just released the video for his soon to be hit songs “Brand New” and “No Romp”. The video features krump dancing, various outfit changes, lots of bling and the Bahamian Flag.

I’m gettin’ money Baby girl, what ya man do?/ He don’ rock like me, cuz he ain this fresh/ Am I a lil’ cocky?/ YES!”
